A President’s Scout cum a Life Member of Sri Lanka Queen’s and President’s Scout Guild has become the Chief Scout Commissioner in Sri Lanka for the first time in History. Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP USP VSV LOM ndc psc appointed as the 20th Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts is a former CEO / Vice Chancellor of Saegis Campus, Former Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the former Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The appointment was made by the President & Chief Scout of Sri Lanka H.E. Gotabaya Rajapaksa with effect from 2nd January 2020.
Prior to being appointed to this highest position of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Major General Peiris served as the District Commissioner of Welioya, Headquarters Commissioner and Adviser to former Chief Commissioner cum Special Commissioner (2017 to 2019).
Major General Milinda Peiris was also reappointed as the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University with effect from 16th January 2020.
Major General Milinda Peiris is a proud product of Nalanda College Colombo 10 & He was actively involved in Scouting during his school days, and He won the President’s Scout Award, the highest award a Sri Lankan Scout can earn.
